I count everything else as loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus Christ my Lord. Philippians 3:7-8
Everything else in life is transient and temporary. Everything else disappoints. As Paul Washer once said: “Jesus isn’t simply all that we need. He’s all that we have!” The Lord saved me in 2004 when I was 20 years old and immediately birthed within me a consuming passion to study His word. In an almost instantaneous fashion, I went from being a hardened rebel to a pastor in training. I was living steeped in sin and the gloom of unending depression when the Lord mercifully opened my eyes to see my need for salvation, and His ability and willingness to save me! Ever since then I have been His unworthy servant. My ambitions in life are to continue to walk in the grace and love of God, to make much of Him in every area of my life, and to be used by Him to lead others to find their delight in Him.
On September 17th of 2011 the Lord kindly blessed me to marry Sole’ Dominguez, and now together we are following Christ with all of our hearts. She is a beautiful, gifted woman who I don’t deserve. We have an imperfect, growing marriage that we strive to keep centered on the Good News of God’s undeserved love for us in Christ. By God’s grace we also have two amazing sons: Thomas “Nicholas” Karrer III and Gideon Emsley Karrer. They are full of life! Our greatest desire is that they would one day repent and surrender their lives to Christ. My family is my first and most important ministry. I’m beyond grateful to God for the joy they bring to my life.
My interests include: my personal devotional time in the word of God and in prayer; spending time in family worship; watching my boys dance; date nights with my wife; preaching; evangelizing; reading solid Christian books (e.g. anything by the Puritans, Charles Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, John Piper, and Paul Washer); spending time with my church family; sledding; eating my wife’s incredible cooking; etc.
