Please watch this video and then deeply consider what our response should be as the Church:
There is no justification for the killing of innocent human beings. According to Scripture, “God hates the hands that shed innocent blood” (Proverbs 6:16-17). In a day and age where the murder of innocent babies in their mother’s wombs (a place intended by God to be safe from harm) is being promoted as a good thing, I do not expect the unsaved to understand the gravity of this issue, “for although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts” (Romans 1:21). But what are we to make of us who are Christians, when a holocaust occurs every single day in America, and yet there is very little outcry against it by the average church and church leader?
In Nazi Germany, only a select few pastors and Germans stood up against the atrocities of Nazism. Many, if not most, even when they knew their neighbors were being terribly oppressed, chose instead to remain apathetic and to focus on their own comforts and problems. Is that our response to the holocaust of our day? 3,000 babies are killed on U.S. soil every single day by Planned Parenthood. 3,000 EVERY SINGLE DAY. What will future generations say of the Christian church of our day? Will they not wonder why there were not more of us out there on the front lines, pleading for these precious lives and fighting to end abortion?
“THAT ISN’T MY MINISTRY/CALLING”
In the church, people have unique roles and unique gifts, but loving our neighbor as ourself isn’t a unique calling given to a select few (see Matthew 22:39). It is the very evidence that we are truly Christians (John 2:3-4). Certainly not everyone can be at Planned Parenthood everyday to plead with women, to offer help and alternative resources, and to preach the Gospel- but many more can and should, and many more of us can and should be doing more, giving a voice to the voiceless and defense to the defenseless. I say this as someone who has had to repent myself, after years of knowing abortion was going on but doing very, very little. More can be done, friends. More must be done.
Regulating the murder of innocent babies isn’t true progress. We must seek and fight for the abolition of abortion. Many “pro-life politicians” have led us to believe that they are doing all that they can. Well that is simply a lie. We need Planned Parenthood shut down, not simply defunded. We the people have a voice. We the Church have a duty to love. I’m not saying abortion abolition needs to be our only priority in this world, but it should be a top priority. Next to evangelism itself, abortion abolition is the battle of our day. Please search your heart, search your Bible, and prayerfully enter into this battle if you haven’t already. Together we might not be able to save every baby immediately, but by God’s grace we can save some, and, we can fight to end abortion in our generation. Love requires sacrifice. May God help us to yield ourselves completely to His love and perfect will.
